Blue Tears

Blue tears,

trail down the skin of the dead.

The last thing they do is cry,

now knowing it's over forever.

Never able to go back and change their mistakes,

fix everything they broke,

but now it's too late

Their souls fade from their bodies

the heart grows still,

no longer thumping like a rabbit warning their Warren.

Their skin grows colder than ice.

That's how you know they're gone.

Your blue tears fall,

as this new reality hits you,

you will never get them back.

Even as you try to breathe life into them,

you'll know the truth.

They're leaving as you're screaming for them not to go.
